What can I do there?
Courtois Creek is a popular canoeing river about 130 miles southwest of St. Louis, Missouri. The 200 acre property acquired by Western Rivers Conservancy is now owned and managed by the U.S. Forest Service, which provides access to the creek for boaters and fishermen. From the Washington County Road 657 stream crossing to its confluence with the Meramec River, Courtois Creek provides excellent paddling opportunities. The creek also supports good fishing for warm water species such as small mouth bass, bluegills, crappie, and catfish. The uplands are readily accessible by foot from the county road and are open for hiking, bird watching, and other land based activities.
