Don Elder Joins Western Rivers Conservancy Staff
When it comes to saving rivers, few are more talented or passionate than Don Elder. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Don has joined the Western Rivers Conservancy staff in September as the Director of Major Gifts.
Don has more than thirty years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and management, and more than twenty years of experience in river conservation. He served as founding Executive Director of the Cahaba River Society from 1988-1994, as Director of Development for The Nature Conservancy of Alabama from 1994-96, and as Vice-President and then President of River Network from 1996-2008.
Don is a familiar face to several senior WRC staff members who worked with him at River Network in the 1990s.
A devoted fly fisherman and true-blue rivers enthusiast, Don spends as much of his spare time as possible on the great rivers of the West. We are thrilled that he has become part of the Western Rivers Conservancy team, and we hope you have an opportunity to meet him someday out on a river!
