Robert Anderson (Treasurer) Corrales, New Mexico

A native of southeastern New Mexico, Robert Anderson graduated from Cornell University and served in the Peace Corps before studying business at the University of New Mexico and joining his family’s company. There, he took up duties as manager and director of subsidiaries and affiliated enterprises engaged in farming, ranching, oil and gas exploration, manufacturing, banking, real estate development and restaurants. Robert has served as director of a number of charitable and civic organizations, among them The Nature Conservancy, the American Farmland Trust and the University of New Mexico’s Robert O. Anderson School of Management Foundation.

Henry Little Partner, Applied Conservation

Henry Little joined WRC’s Board in 2012 after a long and distinguished career with The Nature Conservancy. Beginning in 1972, Henry directed TNC’s Western Regional Office, established its Hawaii State Program, built and ran its International Program, and negotiated many of TNC’s most exciting ecosystem-level projects in Idaho, California and elsewhere. Henry retired in 2010 and lives in San Francisco with his wife Lydia Mendoza. He holds a BA in history from Hamilton College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Nan McKay (Vice Chair) Consultant, Seattle, Washington

Nan McKay provides consulting services to nonprofit organizations and foundations. She worked for six years for The Russell Family Foundation, guiding the design, implementation and evaluation of the foundation's environmental sustainability program. Prior to that, Nan worked for three Washington governors, serving as Chair of the Puget Sound Water Quality Action Team for seven years and Executive Director and Deputy Director of the Puget Sound Water Quality Authority for 10 years. She has served on non-profit boards and task forces focused on environmental protection, research and education, youth, libraries, sustainable development, community development, energy conservation, mental health and international relations.

Peter Moyle Associate Director, Center for Watershed Science, U.C. Davis

Peter Moyle is Associate Director of the Center for Watershed Science at the University of California, Davis as well as Professor in the Department of Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology. Peter is a nationally-renowned expert in fisheries science and the impacts of climate change on riparian ecosystems. He is the author or co-author of over 200 peer-reviewed publications and a member of American Fisheries Society and numerous professional organizations. Peter holds a BA and a PhD in zoology from the University of Minnesota and an MS in Conservation from Cornell University.

Cleve Pinnix Director, retired, Washington State Parks & Recreation Commission, Olympia, Washington

Cleve Pinnix has an impressive career in public service in both Washington, D.C. and Washington state. He most recently served for a decade as Director of the Washington State Parks & Recreation Commission. Prior to that, he was Deputy Director for Washington Parks and Deputy Supervisor for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources. Cleve also served eight years as chief staff for the U.S. House Interior Committee, subcommittee on National Parks that dramatically expanded our National Parks System. Cleve is an avid outdoorsman and a true believer in river conservation.

Jon Roush Environmental Consultant, Portland, Oregon

Jon began his conservation career in the 1970s with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), first as a field representative and then as Executive Vice President. He left TNC in 1977 to start a small ranching business in western Montana. Over the next decade, he developed a successful model system of ranch management, using ecological principles and humane animal care. While in Montana, Jon joined Canyon Consulting and advised environmental groups, from British Columbia to Puerto Rico, on organizational strategy. In 1993, he became the President of The Wilderness Society (TWS). He left TWS in 1996 to return to an independent consulting practice with his wife, Joyce Chinn. Jon has served on numerous boards, including the Board of Governors of The Nature Conservancy. He currently serves on the Board of the Indian Law Resource Center.

Darcy Saiget Fisheries Biologist, U.S. Forest Service, White Salmon, Washington

Darcy Saiget (formerly Morgan) is a Fisheries Biologist for the U.S. Forest Service in Parkdale, Oregon. She also serves on the board of the L.P. Brown Foundation, a small family foundation in Colorado, where Darcy was born and raised. As a federal Fisheries Biologist, she is actively involved in conservation and habitat restoration for Columbia River Threatened, Endangered, and Sensitive fish species. As a board member of the L.P. Brown Foundation, she is an active proponent of environmental causes, child education, and sustainable living. Darcy received a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont and is a member of the Oregon Chapter of the American Fisheries Society. 

Phillip Wallin President, Western Rivers Conservancy, Portland, Oregon

Phillip Wallin founded what is now known as Western Rivers Conservancy and currently serves as the organization's President. In 1988, Phil created River Network, which once housed Western Rivers Conservancy. Prior to establishing Western Rivers Conservancy, he was a founding staff member of the Trust for Public Land. During his fifteen-year career there, he helped to establish the land trust and urban programs, and served as Southwest Regional Director. Phil graduated from Stanford University and received his J.D. from the Chicago University School of Law.

Norbert Wellman, Director Emeritus
Investor, Ferguson Wellman Capital Management, Inc., Portland, Oregon

Norbert Wellman is a native Oregonian and a graduate of Oregon State University. He started in the investment business in 1962 with a New York Stock Exchange firm. In 1975, he co-founded the registered investment advisory firm of Ferguson Wellman Captial Management. The firm currently manages approximately two billion dollars of private and institutional money. Norb is past president of the OSU Foundation and currently a trustee. He is also past chairman and current member of the OSU Foundation Investment Committee. In addition, he serves on the board of The Institute for Hearing and Speech. Norb is an avid fly fisherman.

Jack Williams (Chair) Chief Scientist, Trout Unlimited, Medford, Oregon

Jack Williams is a leading fisheries biologist, currently the Chief Scientist for Trout Unlimiteds national program. He previously served as Forest Supervisor of the Rogue River and Siskiyou National Forests in Oregon. Jack also has taught at Southern Oregon University and the University of California-Davis, served as the Bureau of Land Managements National Fisheries Program Manager and the Science Advisor to the BLM Director in Washington, D.C. He has authored more than 100 scientific and popular articles about conservation, fisheries and watershed restoration, among many other topics. Jack received his PhD in Fisheries Science from Oregon State University.
